Special Programs by Government for Women Entrepreneurship:

1. Bharathiya Mahila Bank Business Loan-

Bharathiya Mahila Bank was established for women who have huge dreams despite lacking resources. It offers up to INR 20 crores to female entrepreneurs looking to start a manufacturing enterprise. Collateral is not required if the loan amount is less than one crore. While the Bharatiya Mahila Bank amalgamated with the State Bank of India, the loan programme began in 2017 remains in place.

2. Mudra Yojana Scheme-

Mudra Yojana is a plan that might benefit women who seek to establish or grow their own small company. This is not a strategy designed exclusively for women, but it may be helpful. You may apply for a loan ranging from INR 50000 to INR 10 lakh.

It is ideal for starting a small shop or running a home-based company. This loan does not require any collateral or guarantor.

The plan is broken into three sections:

Shishu: loans of up to 50,000/- 

Kishor: loans of more than 50,000/- and up to 5 lakh

Tarun: loans above 5 lakh and up to 10 lakh

This strategy has helped many firms since it is simple to implement.

3. Dena Shakti Scheme-

Dena Shakti Scheme is a lending programme for women entrepreneurs in the following industries:

  • Agricultural enterprises
  • Shops for sale
  • Manufacturing industry
  • Microcredit institutions
  • Housing /Education

You can utilize this strategy if you start any of the above. While the maximum loan ceiling is Rs. 20 lakhs, the loan you can apply for will be determined by the industry you use. The interest rate is 0.25 percentage points lower than the base rate. 

4. Udyogini Scheme-

Want to establish a business but don’t know where to begin? Not to worry. The Udyogini Scheme is designed exclusively for women from families with an annual income of less than Rs. 1.5 lakhs. There are no such limits for widowed, poor, or disabled women.

You may get a loan of up to Rs. Three lakhs at a reasonable interest rate. This will enable women to create modest companies and become self-sufficient. This programme aims to assist women from economically disadvantaged families in becoming self-sufficient. Loan subsidies also make it simpler for women to progress in their business path.

While the Karnataka State Women Development Corporation initiated the Udyogini Scheme, numerous banks have embraced it in various forms.

5. Cent Kalyani Scheme-

Do you want to start or expand your SME? Cent Kaylani is a Central Bank of India initiative for women like you. Loans of up to Rs. One hundred lakhs are sanctioned under the plan without the need for collateral or processing fees.

Except for self-help groups, retail trade, and educational and training institutions, all other types of businesses are eligible under this scheme.

6. Mahila Udyam Nidhi Scheme-

Punjab National Bank created the Mahila Udyam Nidhi Scheme, assisting Small Scale Industries (SSI). The purpose is to stimulate modernization and technical improvement in these small-scale enterprises by making loans easy to get.

The ceiling for the loan is Rs. 10 lakhs, and the borrower has ten years to repay the debt. This includes a 5-year moratorium period. Aside from PNB, numerous other banks, such as SBI, also provides similar plans.

7. Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP)-

The government of India, through NITI Aayog, has launched an initiative called the Women Entrepreneurship Platform, which brings together female entrepreneurs and sponsors eager to assist them in one location.

You can join this community if you are an aspiring female entrepreneur. In WEP, they perform the following:

  • Incubation and acceleration programme for early-stage firms.
  • Entrepreneurship and leadership may be taught through skill training and mentorship programmes.
  • Marketing assistance
  • Assistance in ensuring that rules and regulations are followed.
  • Funding and financial aid are available.
  • A network and community of like-minded women.
